Colonel Sanders Pulled From River
After 24 years a statue of KFC's Colonel Sandrs has been pulled from a river in Osaka, Japan. He was finally recovered this week after crazed baseball fans threw him in the river celebrating after the Hanshin Tigers won the league championship in 1985. Fans often jump into the murky river to celebrate the team's successes. The Colonel is in police custody currently but he may be donated to the team. The KFC chain currently operates about 1,160 restaurants in Japan, and has about 1,000 Colonel Sanders statues in the country.

First Brother-In-Law could come to Georgia
Can you imagine our President and his family sitting around the TV at The White House barking during a basketball game? Me neither, but it is a possibility. Craig Robinson is the Head Coach for Oregon State and brother to Michelle Obama. He is possibly one of the candidates to replace Dennis Felton. He has just taken the Beavers from a team who won 0 Pac-10 games last year to winning 7 this season. Robinson is 46 and was a two time Ivy League Player of the Year while attending Princeton.
Robinson tries to recruit nationally and has met with some students allready from here in the peach state. I personally do not think his style would fly at Georgia. Why you ask? Because of his insistence that his players use correct grammar. Robinson said “I’ll use certain words so they have to look them up,” “I want them to understand that when the ball stops bouncing, you have to speak well. You have to write well. You have to present yourself well. You have to be bilingual.”

A favorite among fans at the Georgia Dome, 345 pound Grady Jackson, has signed with the Detroit Lions. He agreed to a three year $8 million contract. T-Ball pioneer dies
Albion, Mich. — A man who helped popularize T-ball as an organized youth sport has died.
The J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home in Albion says 93-year-old Jerome Sacharski died Friday at his home in Albion, about 85 miles from Detroit.
He was a teacher and coach at Albion Public Schools from 1951 until 1980.
T-ball helps youngsters develop baseball skills. They hit from adjustable tees placed on home plate rather than pitched balls. The game’s exact origin is unclear but behind Sacharski, Albion in 1956 became one of the nation’s first communities in which T-ball was played as an organized sport.
Survivors include his wife, three sons, four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
A funeral Mass is scheduled for Wednesday.
