International film star Jackie Chan is in final negotiations to be in Columbia pictures remake of "The Karate Kid". This remake will be a revamped version and will take place in Asia. Chan is set to play the mentor, although it is not clear if his name will be Mr. Miyagi. This film will also feature Jaden Smith, the son of Will Smith.
